Andy Wakefield (1978)

He holds 12 school hitting records. Andy has the most career homeruns with 20 and had a career batting average of .500. He was 1st team All-State in 1977 and 1978.


Larry Maiolo (1978)

Larry holds 5 school pitching records. He is the career wins leader with 18. He was first team All-State in 1977 and 2nd team in 1978. Pitched a no-hitter against Independence in 1977.


Larry Hickman (1988)

Larry had a career batting average of .432 and holds 3 school hitting records. He was 2nd team All-State in 1988.


Chuck Tate (1983)

Chuck holds 7 career hitting records and had a career average of .453. In 1983, he had 14 homeruns and 43 rbi's. He was 1st team All-State in 1983.


Bob Cernuto (1947)

Bob started the Industrial League in 1954. He organized the league, sponsored a team and coached in the league for 45 years. Many high school and college athletes played in this league during the summer.


Tom Parham

Tom coached the baseball team from 1975-2000. His coaching record was 348-234-3 with a .586 winning percentage. Tom won 10 sectional titles, 4 regional titles, and had 2 teams that were state runner-ups.

David Barksdale (1962)

He was captain of the 1962 team and hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 7th inning in the 1961 Regional Championship to send Woodrow to the state tournament. Coached Woodrow basketball 17 years winning 5 state championships, made 12 state tournaments and had a record of 334-93


Don Belcher (1961)

He was a left-handed pitcher and went 7-0 in 1961. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates organization after high school.


Danny Ellison (1961)

Great infielder, combined to no-hit Mullens in 1961.


Pat Estes (1987)

Career batting average was .474. Had 11 home runs and 56 rbi's during his career.


Ronnie Fama (1980)

One of Woodrow's best left-handed pitchers. Had 170 strikeouts in his career to go with a 1.98 era. Played college baseball at Division 3 power Marietta.


Pat Fragile (1962)

Let team in hitting in 1962 with .411 average. Got baseball started back at Woodrow after an 8 year absence.


Charlie Gillian (1992)

Had a career 12-7 record and .318 batting average. Pitched at Virginia Tech and was a freshman All-American. Played 3 years in the Minnesota Twins organization.


Buddy Hutchens (1964)

Batted .375 and .340 during his 2 years. Played in Cleveland Indians organization.


Fred Lewis (1965)

Led 1963 and 1965 team to states. Played college ball at Florida Southern.


Steve Licklitter (1968)

Captain of 1968 team. Four sport letterman at Morris Harver College. Professional bowler since 1975. In Morris Harvey and WV Bowling Hall of Fame.
